(Columbia, SC) - A death row inmate in South Carolina is scheduled for lethal injection today.
Forty-four-year-old Marion Bowman Junior is sentenced to be executed for the 2001 murder of 21-year-old Kandee Martin in Dorchester County.
Bowman's legal team says he will not ask Governor McMaster for clemency, but maintains his innocence.
In a statement, the legal team says Bowman "cannot in good conscience ask for a supposed mercy that would require him to spend the rest of his life in prison for a crime he did not commit."
