Bill To Ban Certain College Diversity Efforts Passes House

(Columbia, SC)-- A bill to ban certain diversity efforts on college campuses is advancing.

The South Carolina House of Representatives voted 84 to 30 in favor of the measure Thursday.

If it becomes law, the bill would prohibit diversity statements in admissions and employment decisions at South Carolina's public universities and colleges.

It would also ban mandatory diversity training for faculty and staff. The proposed legislation now heads to the South Carolina Senate.
